EMDR LEVEL 2 CHILD & ADOLESCENT TRAINING
Infants, Children & Pre-Verbal trauma… Why EVERYONE needs to know the child protocols
When adults have been traumatised as children, their memories often become stuck in the mannerisms, language and recall of a small child. As such, modifications which make EMDR accessible for children are equally important for clinicians who work with adults who have been traumatised as children.
Being able to adapt and be flexible in the delivery of EMDR modifications alongside an awareness of language when processing early childhood traumas are important aspects to the successful delivery of EMDR.
This workshop will include some practicums to help consolidate learning and flexibility in the delivery of EMDR – especially with a respect of adults traumatised as small children.
This EMDR Child and Adolescent Training is designed to ensure that the over-arching developmental stages of children are taken into account when utilising EMDR to ensure the correct developmental protocols are used to maximise therapeutic benefit to the child and their family.
During the training, an overview of working systemically with children will be taught alongside the technical modifications of standard EMDR components by age group, supported by videos of children which illustrate the different developmental protocols that are chronologically appropriate. Level 2 builds on this, extending the developmental protocols to increasingly more complex cases.
This practical 2-day training is offered to those who have completed, at a minimum, part 2 / level 2 of an EMDR Europe accredited training in EMDR and who have at least 1 year of experience in working with children / adolescents under the age of 18. The training will include practicums and skills-based learning to help consolidate learning and flexibility in the delivery of EMDR with children. The purpose of the training is to ensure that participants take into account the over-arching developmental stages of children when utilising EMDR with this population.
During the course of the training there will be opportunities :-
